Transit

Bob here...

We're back at the Hotel Rendezvous for a few hours. We got on the boat this morning at around 8:00 and road two different boats back into Ha Long Bay City. Transferred to our van and made the drive back to Hanoi. We leave the hotel in about an hour to get on the night train to go to Sapa. Sapa is in the North and only about 20 kilometers from China. From what I've read, this is a Hmong area. With growing up in Wausau where there is a large Hmong presence, it will be very interesting to learn more about their culture and history. From what I've read, our hotel is typically above the clouds. So, it should make for some amazing pictures. I just had a cigarette with a hotel employ, and he mentioned that it can get cold there. We just looked at the weather and it's currently 17 celsius, at 7 PM. That's 63 fahrenheit, a little chilly, but not as bad as the 45 degrees in Wisconsin. Plus, in a few days when we're in the South, it will be 90+ everyday.

We've been told they have internet, so we should be able to post some initial pics tomorrow.
